Thank
you for interest in Norris Enterprises Inc.
Below are some tips on how to
maintain and use your branding iron. With these
instructions/hints/suggestions you will enjoy your Stainless Steel
branding iron for years to come.
Care: Be careful of any sharp edges
that maybe on the iron. They are laser cut and have very fine edges.
Wash in your dishwasher or hand wash with hot water
and soap. I suggest that the wooden handle be removed by taking a small
Phillips screw driver and loosening the screw till it is almost a ¼ inch
above the wood. Pull on the handle and it should come off of the stainless
steel rod. You will notice there is a slot/notch on the side of the rod.
Set the wooden handle aside until the iron is washed. After it is washed
you will be able to put the wooden handle back in place. Line up the
handle screw and the slot/notch in the rod. The screw is designed to slip
into the notch. Screw in place.
Use:
Start you charcoal according to the instructions of
the manufacturer of you grill. Immediately place the iron on top or into
the charcoal briquettes or into the flame of the propane grill to insure
good heat. If you do not want to place it into the heated flame- option
that some use is to take a propane torch to heat up the iron. The hotter
the better for steak/chickens/pork. For bread/pita/ rolls etc. you will
not want it red hot.
Before you brand your meat. Take a
paper towel etc. and dab the place where you will be placing the iron.
This removes the excess moisture. The excess moisture prevents the iron
from searing the meat and allows the moisture to create a steam barrier
therefore steaming the meat. The brand imprint may not stay thru the
cooking process if the moisture is not removed.
Suggestion: Just after you place your meat
onto your grill,
that is the time to
Have fun with your family and friends
Thanks Again,
Jim Norris
